Senior Systems & Network Administrator

About the Role
H&M Bay, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Systems & Network Administrator to join our IT team. This role is responsible for managing and maintaining our enterprise infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud services, security systems, and end-user technologies.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on IT professional with strong troubleshooting skills, a proactive mindset, and experience supporting complex business environments. You'll play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our technology systems while helping drive infrastructure improvements and strategic IT initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Microsoft Windows and Linux servers in both physical and virtualized environments.
- Manage enterprise network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, wireless networks, and related technologies.
- Monitor system performance, backups, security, and overall infrastructure health.
- Troubleshoot and resolve server, network, and end-user technology issues.
- Support and maintain cloud-based services, including Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra, AWS, and VoIP platforms.
- Assist with disaster recovery planning, testing, and business continuity initiatives.
- Collaborate with vendors on infrastructure projects, evaluate proposals, and support implementation efforts.
- Maintain technical documentation, system inventories, and operational procedures.
- Recommend and implement improvements that enhance reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in budgeting and planning for IT infrastructure projects and recurring operational expenses.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, security threats, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of hands-on experience administering enterprise Windows and/or Linux server environments.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Active Directory
- DNS
- DHCP
- Group Policy
- Microsoft 365
- Microsoft Entra ID
- SQL Server
- Exchange
- File and Print Services
- Advanced networking knowledge, including:
- TCP/IP
- Routing and switching
- Wireless networking
- Structured cabling
- Experience with virtualization platforms, preferably VMware.
- Experience managing enterprise storage solutions, including SAN technologies.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat mitigation, and infrastructure hardening.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred
- Experience with AWS services.
- Experience supporting VoIP systems.
- Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Industry certifications such as VMware, Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, or AWS.
Working Environment
- Fast-paced, collaborative IT environment.
- Participation in a rotating Saturday support schedule.
- Occasional after-hours maintenance windows to support upgrades and infrastructure projects.
- Limited travel may be required for remote site support, disaster recovery testing, and professional development opportunities.
- This is an on-site position with some work-from-home opportunities.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
